Meet My Parents

When I was a baby I was placed in an orphanage for almost four years. Back then I was not aware of my circumstances let alone my surroundings. I could not even imagine what would happen within the first few years of my life. That a family would choose me and take me home with them. The love that two strangers could bring to one child and create a family is something that I had hoped for a long time.

My life changed 20 years ago when I was adopted. Little did I know that I would be placed in such an amazing home. I have truly been blessed with the best parents and siblings. My parents are two of my favotite people in the world. They literally went across the world to come get me and that is something that I will be forever grateful for.

Since my parents have gone through the adoption process, I wanted to interview them and get their perseptive on what it was like. What better way to understand how it works, then to ask people who have actually experienced it? Disclaimer: I was adopted quite awhile ago, so the process has defintley changed over the years. This video represents my parentes experience when they adopted me in 2000. Here are the questions that I will be asking them:

  1. Why did you guys choose to adopt?

  2. What was the process like?

  3. How long did it take?

  4. Was it longer or shorter then you expected?

  5. How did you choose where you wanted to adopt from?

  6. MOM

    DAD

Thank You!!!

I started this project because I was intrigued about the adoption process. I had never fully researched it before and I wanted to see what I could find. I also thought it would be fun since I was adopted. There was some things I wasn't aware of or even knew. I think it was interesting to learn ALL the steps that it took for me to get here.

For me, I enjoyed going down memory lane and finding old pictures and watching videos. It's a time that I don't personally remember, but I'm glad that I still have pictures to refelct on. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you enjoy!
